Jesus Cares

Hey! I think it's high time for a change.
Look around. What do you see?
... numerous unemployed bystanders.
... Young and old on ragged clothes begging for food in every corner of the.
street.
... Lads engaged in crimes and violence, left and right.
... vicious cycle of child abuse, drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution,.
robbery and murder.
... And it's all because of POVERTY!

Ahh! Who cares?

What? Are you pointing your forefinger at ME?!

Uuh ...! Not me! I have my own mountain of problems too! I can't help! I've got no time ... not even a single minute to bother myself of this dilemma! The government should do.

Hmm ... Wait a minute ... My mind ponders and my heart throbs ...
Who am I to care about this?
I am a Filipino ... a Christian ... a child of God.

Okey ... I'll just pray for them.

It isn't enough?

Hmmm ...
I need to care ... I need to really care ... and LOVE.
Yeah! That's it! The meaning of my life ... my passion ... my calling.

JESUS CARES ... SO I CARE.
Yes Lord, I care ... and love and I always will.

LOVE IN ACTION

As part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of JIL Church Batangas, iCare Ministry of JIL Church Tanauan City launched the Adopt A Family Program (AFP). last May 10, 2009. It was indeed victorious through the help of our Almighty God and our brethren who supported financially.

The program started at 9:00 in the morning and ended at 11:30 in the morning.

After the registration, an orientation for the beneficiaries was conducted by Mrs. Lorie Cuevas, a DSWD Officer. While waiting for the guest, food (chicken adobo and rice) was served.

Sis. Rhiza Soltes, an iCare. volunteer led in worship while Sis. Florie Rodrigo,. iCare. head in JIL Tanauan, led the opening prayer to start the program proper. Ptr. Julie Asi, Area 28 head pastor, delivered an opening remarks. Ptr. Addie Asi, Region IV Head Pastor, introduced the guest speaker. Sis. Dory Villanueva, the guest speaker, conveyed her message and prayer for everyone who attended the said event. She shared about the history of. iCare. ministry, how it all started and also her treasured experiences with the. iCare. beneficiaries particularly in Bulacan and Metro Manila. She also shared the free gift of salvation which she said the most precious gift everybody can receive in his life.

The beneficiaries were presented by Sis. Rhiza Soltes, whereas Sis. Rhiza Park led the Pledge of Support of the Sponsors. Sis. Nhel Tumambing led the closing Prayer. Finally, each family representative received goods (rice and groceries), distributed by Sis. Dory Villanueva, Ptr. Addie Asi and Ptr. Julie Asi.

Thirty families who were recommended by the DSWD were greatly blessed by God that day through the compassion of the fifty three (53) sponsors who were challenged to support them and the salvation that they now have. They will receive monthly subsidy from the sponsors. They were required to attend the life group in their places and also the worship and healing service every Sunday at JIL Church, Tanauan City.

To God be all the glory, both now and forevermore! Amen.
